View of Manhattan (about 20 miles away) from Brant Point Wildlife Sanctuary, a few minutes walk from my Rockaway apartment. This is looking northwest, over Jamaica Bay, Queens and Brooklyn.
I am a musician in New York City, by way of North Alabama. Much of my early musical influence has been the early 70's singer-songwriters like James Taylor, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Janis Ian, Jim Croce, Carole King, etc. In later years, I studied classical guitar, a little jazz (guitar, bass and piano), and was compelled to explore the power and influence of Christian music artists such as Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, the 2nd Chapter of Acts, Glad, etc. As music grew from a hobby into a career in my life, I began to write and arrange original songs, interspersing them with the popular covers everyone wants to hear. Whenever I do a concert, coffee house, restaurant, private party, or other performance, I try to have an interesting range of musical styles, genres and emotion ... i.e. "something for everyone!"

Invitation #7 on my son's little mini-Martin guitar...with a metronome. Between 2:30 & 3 a.m. I was tired.
LET HIM HAVE HIS MOMENT: I played this original song at Brent Morgan's home a couple of years ago. The studio version is on my "Jude" project, available on iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, ... or just contact me for a fully mastered CD.
Here I'm doing one of my favorite Carly Simon songs on the Cooper & Company show.
Me covering Stevie!
A few seconds of "Misty" on my old Baldwin spinet piano in my 5th Street studio in Athens, AL. I was feeling a bit "misty" about having to get rid of it to sell the house and move to NYC.
Here's one I wrote years ago and first did at Colonial Hills Methodist Church in San Antonio but have done many ways & many times since. Soon I hope to add vocals, kids & adults, and maybe more percussion before remixing!
BABY'S PLASTIC RATTLE: This was at the Coffee Tree, a neat little coffee house that used to be in SE Huntsville (They were kinda noisy that night!) This is one of the first songs I ever wrote - when I was in about 8th grade. 40 years later, I think it holds up as a pretty good song!
Here's a song I wrote at Noah's Ark, Summer of 1985. Inspired by Ann Aubin Gibson and recorded a few years later on cassette tape at Brentwood United Methodist Church in TN (I felt I did it a little too slowly, so at the risk of sounding "chipmunky" I increased the tape speed a bit when I mixed piano and vocal.)
A few years ago, I got to be the lead in a local production of Fiddler on the Roof. Here are the lovely Christy Ellis and me as Golde & Tevye, singing "Do You Love Me?"
A little bit of Scott Joplin's "Elite Syncopations". To be honest I posted it reluctantly because of a couple of clunkers, but I only had a few minutes before the piano was taken away for the house to be sold. Certain instruments work well with a particular style, and this was a great ragtime piano!
